Technical Reach

ETC was founded as an independent, nonprofit science research company and, as such, is home to a scientific, engineering and technical workforce. Eighty percent of our employees hold technical degrees. In addition to our in-house expertise, ETC enjoys strong professional relationships with the University of Maryland, the University of California, San Diego, Lawrence Livermore National laboratory and the many Department of Defense organizations in southern Maryland.

Twenty percent of our full-time employees directly support operations at IHD-NSWC and NAVEODTECHDIV Stump Neck. As the result of this close collaboration, ETC has “technical reach” into our partnering organizations which extends the “technical depth on our bench” by an order of magnitude. In particular, we work closely with the Center for Energetics Concepts Development (CECD), the Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering (CALCE) at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Maryland, College Park.

The Modeling & Simulation capabilities in virtual environments is made possible through close collaboration with the Simulation-Based System Design Laboratory at the University of Maryland.

On IHD-NSWC, ETC has a long-term record of technical collaboration with the Research and Underwater Weapons Departments.
