Building upon a strong foundation supporting the Naval Surface Warfare Center at Indian Head (IHD-NSWC), ETC has expanded its portfolio to include Modeling and Simulation efforts associated with advanced energetic materials, autonomous unmanned vehicle (AUV) operations and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) mitigation. We provide research and analysis services for Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) organizations. We have established a core competency in the field of informatics and data analysis, with an initial focus on energetics, and we continue to be involved with energizing students to be interested in careers associated with science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). With our charter very clear, we continue a strong relationship with IHD-NSWC, College of Southern Maryland (CSM), the University of Maryland, as well as other federal, state and local organizations.

We have also established the Potomac Workforce Education and Recruitment (PoWER) Center, which is designed to assist in transitioning disable veterans into the federal workforce of Southern Maryland.

Our Past

ETC was incorporated on 24 August 2006 and commenced operations on 1 April 2007 as part of the Southern Maryland Initiative for Energetics Capability Development, in partnership with the Center for Energetics Concepts Development (CECD) at the University of Maryland. The company's charter included its designation as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a specific focus to be a catalyst for research, development, prototyping, education and training in Southern Maryland and to facilitate, in partnership with IHD-NSWC, Southern Maryland becoming a world-class Center of Excellence in Energetics.

Our Future

Our future is bright because of the quality of our employees, the alignment of our priorities and the relevancy of our charter to become a world-class research, development, test and evaluation (T&E) provider for the government, academia, and industry. We intend to expand our scope and reach with a disciplined approach to growth, never forgetting that we exist to serve the public interest and support our communities.
