A Press Conference and
Ribbon Cutting for the Energetics Technology
Center was held on October 12, 2006 at the new
ETC Development Office in La Plata, MD.
Federal, state, and local leadership were in
attendance, including Senator Paul Sarbanes,
Senator Barbara Mikulski, Delegates Sally
Jameson and Murray Levy, and Charles County
Commissioners.
Also attending were
representatives of the partners in this project,
including the University of Maryland, the Naval
Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Division,
the College of Southern Maryland, the Office of
Naval Research, and Charles County Government.
The event marked another
milestone in the ETC project and celebrated the
over $6 million of funding that has been secured
to begin the project.
