Waldorf, MD October 24, 2011 – Dr. Arun Seraphin, Assistant Director, Defense Programs, of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, will address the Second National Capital Region Energetics Symposium, November 1-2, 2011 at the College of Southern Maryland in La Plata, MD. The symposium provides an unclassified forum for scientists and engineers to exchange information on the research, development, and manufacturing of energetics.

Dr. Seraphin will be the Symposium Keynote Speaker on 1 November, 2011 followed by presentations on subjects as:

    "The Role of Energetics in Future Military Applications"
    "Energetics Outside the United States"
    "A Vision for Energetics…Current and Future"
    "Energetic Materials Outside DoD"

The Second National Capital Region Energetics Symposium is sponsored by the Center for Energetic Concepts Development at the University of Maryland. Attendance is open to members of government, academia, and industry. The Energetics Technology Center is a private, non-profit enterprise dedicated to growing science and technology in Southern Maryland.
